  • Projects of all kinds fall under their purview. They schedule, track, budget, and coordinate teams next door or halfway around the world.
  • With little formal training, administrative professionals are learning new software features and shortcuts by absorbing information from manuals, colleagues, online resources and user groups—across town and across cyberspace.
  • Admins have redesigned their work to do it better, faster, and cheaper by moving from paper to electronic—for purchasing, scheduling, making travel arrangements, conducting meetings, collaborating on documents, and screening resumes for open positions.
